Dr. Ashley hamstra, md
Board-certified Dermatologist
Board-certified Dermatopathologist
Dr. Ashley Hamstra loves a challenge. So when she first got behind a microscope to review dermatopathology cases, she was hooked. With the encouragement of her instructors at Loma Linda University Medical Center, she decided to pursue dermpath as a career.
After completing dermatopathology fellowship with the internationally renowned Dr. Dirk Elston at the Medical University of South Carolina, Dr. Hamstra began her career as a clinical dermatologist and dermatopathologist. So her pathology reports are based on extensive clinical experience as well as the histology.
After several years of practicing both clinical dermatology and dermatopathology, Dr. Hamstra founded Evergreen Dermatopathology in 2019.
Dr. Hamstra and her husband, Steve, live in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. They have three young children, and she loves nothing better than to spend time with her kids. In addition, Dr. Hamstra enjoys loose-leaf teas, yoga, hiking and cozying up with a book.
